My grandfather died from this. Symptoms started at the end of April. He was dead by June. Hallucinations, delusions, loss of self and time… all so rapidly was so traumatizing to watch.

don't Hospitals dispose of surgical equipments used on patients with CJD/Prion disease cuz even the autoclave can't sterilize them.

Prions are so weird bc there’s legit NOTHING for it, while at least we have some things to treat certain chemical exposures, radiation (if it’s not too bad), cancers from radiation…. But if one of your own proteins decides to go “lol ykw ↩️↪️” you’re DONE 100% DONE!

There was a book where a kid had this disease. He put himself in a sort of coma and had a whole adventure with a talking gnome (it was a dwarf) and a Valkyrie against Surtr. In the end you don't know if he truly made it all up or if it was real because he finds one of her feathers shortly before his death.

My grandma passed away from this in may she was diagnosed in February and the scariest thing about this is that she was completely fine watching Stranger Things with me New Year’s Day in January it had been barely even a month. She was fine the day they took her to the hospital but the day I went to see her about four days later, she was completely different. It is absolutely insane.
