I think you need an editor! Get a tripod with two cameras one V and one H. This way you can make one long video for YT and the editor can chop the other one down for TikTok!

Film at 4k horizontal & centre yourself/the subject in the frame. Set up a script using ffmpeg to crop a 9:16 ratio from the 16:9 footage (resulting in 1080px x 1920px dimensions) for tiktok/shorts and then you still have the original 16:9 for YouTube edits.

Just record everything in full frame or 4:3 if your camera can do it. With a wide enough lens and enough megapixels you can crop it down to fit later. Recording in raw format as well is feasible if you have large enough memory cards.

It depends on the quality of in engagement, the foot hasn’t dropped yet on ticktock but it a matter of time. Idk what i would do but it seems like a good idea

@I2C_Jason tiktok does 10 plus minute videos easily. how about make a short video line this one taking a poll to see how many would still watch a long video. personally I prefer it plus you can clip them with AI software later and make shorter clips for those who want the tiny glimpse instead of the whole picture

The 1 benefit I can see of posting the YouTube first is you can avoid having bot accounts/other accounts posting your content first and fighting their ridiculous system to attempt to claim your copyrights to shut them down while they monetize

I didnt realize you were doing youtube. I say work flow is more important than videos. If video production takes to much effort then it reduces your willingness to do them.
