i used to carry a 350 dollar microtech in a weld shop. thing took a beating. never stopped work and never chipped the blade. ive owned 20 dollar knives to.. they dull fast, they break, the locking mechanisms suck, fingers get hurt. ill take my mid to high end knives.

i totaly agree that all knives do the same job but a more expensive knife can give you better edge retention (stays sharper longer), more strength, and overall nicer hand feel, pocket clip, etc. A more expensive knife is more expensive for a reason. it will last longer and sometimes feel better than a cheap one.

I really like my nice knives a lot, but nothing beats a fast back for a work knife. Incredibly inexpensive and just swap blades when they wear out.
