Rewatching Wall-E, I noticed (and loved) how nice the human characters were even in a world where they are so disconnected from each other and so immersed in tech! Also the captain having no reading skills sent me 💀

People say that's the Pixar formula, but I think the real Pixar formula is: "there's 2 characters, one's normal/serious, and the other is weird/wacky, how will they ever get along!?" Anyway, great movie, great video

I like your point on complacency. we're not actively trying to ruin the environment but many people can't seem to admit it's happening. and this movie does a great job pointing that out

never had a movie made me emotional about a robot trash compactor getting crushed in an effort to save the human race

one thing i thought was rlly interesting was that the president was a live action actor and the rest of the people aboard the ship all those years later were cartoons. sorta signifying how the human race lost any sense individualism over the 700 years due to the excessive use of technology

I watched Wall-E bunches when it came to video. Anyone else spend a lot of time thinking about Garden of Eden/Adam & Eve comparisons? I can’t even recall everything I came up with. Even meant to write a paper on the subject. Just for me. Wild

Hey I love the way you make these videos tie into each other! Feels very cohesive and makes your entire page seem to have its own narrative without feeling like I “missed an episode”

Something I just realised is that wall-e introduces fatness as a consequence of all these negative changes. I understand it, but I don’t like it, because it reinforces the idea that people are fat because they are lazy and unhealthy. Whereas body size is determined from a myriad of factors. There are skinny people that don’t exercise or eat well in modern society. I don’t love the idea that my son will learn this underlying msg when watching this movie, I want him to view body size as a neutral characteristic and not judge others for their weight. The fact that I didn’t realise this till now just goes to show how ingrained this commentary on larger bodies is in our society. Apart from this, I completely love this movie, it’s on of my favourites for sure.

i always felt like auto had feelings and good motivation too, even if its the villain. autos whole purpose is to steer the ship and take care of the humans, and it cant stand the thought of the humans leaving it to go back to earth. it doesnt want to be left alone, so it tries to stop them from going back

I like the part when you talk about foreign movies, because I'm Brazilian and while watching foreign movies (including US movies) we learn more about the culture of that country and more about the way they see life itself, like how they think we are going to end, that's different from my country and it's very cool to learn more about other cultures (and I love your content, I just can't get enough of it)
