Just a question, why didn’t you enter like a 60cm cause yes he can jump huge, but a comp xc course is heaps different to training so just to get your confidence up I thought that would’ve been a better idea…

He’s a showjumper his only understanding of water is to either drink it or jump over it so when being asked to go through it he doesn’t get it and as we all know if the horse doesn’t understand it then they’re going to be scared of it. Personally thing you did a fantastic job and if you can find a cross country course with no water your on to a winner😂. But it’s so refreshing to see an owner say if he doesn’t like it I won’t make him do it, you tried and he said dad I don’t think it’s for me you gave it another shot and he said nope not for me so you say it ok mate will go back to what we know best. Respect ✊

I’ve really enjoyed watching these clips, and I think you’ve done a wonderful job. Absolutely valid choice not to push forward with Cabrio as an eventer. He’s a beautiful scopey horse and he can showcase those talents in other ways. Also, looking fierce in the red!

Why don’t you take him to do an ODE in a smaller class? XC jumps can be very scary but if they are smaller I’m sure Caprio would jump them easily and it would give you both a positive experience 🥰
