They aren’t of Caribbean descent. They are Caribbean. Those of us born in the US mainland or people born in the UK or anywhere else but whose parents were born in the Caribbean are of Caribbean descent. Also, Ivy queen, Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny are not what I would consider Afro Latino. They’re predominantly of European ancestry as am I. I may have 5% African DNA but I’m mostly Spanish and indigenous in my DNA. I would never claim to be Afro Puerto Rican because of that 5%. I feel like that would be disrespectful to say

Having Afro descent is one thing, but only Ozuna and Don Omar are Afro Latinos! A lot of us know how many Puerto Ricans are descendants of Europeans and kept the European bloodline going hence why Daddy Yankee, Evie queen, Bad Bunny looked the way they look. The real Afro Latinos kept their bloodline going. Just look at the celebrities parents.

Ozuna and don omar sure. The rest are just ambiguous. Having African descent isn’t enough to make you Afro-Latino. It’s phenotype and societal based. Ethnically they’ll always have the claim to all of their Caribbean culture, but that’s really it. My bio grandfather is an Afro-Dominican, but I’m not simply because phenotypically I look more euro/indigenous centric. And that’s ok ☺️👍🏼 (side note: where’s THE KING Tego Calderon?😩)
