Fun fact liquid iv and rehydration packets are meant to be sweet when you need them, and salty when you don’t! So if it’s ever salty it’s bc you don’t need it

also, when you’re dehydrated (according to my partners nurse mom of over 30 years) the packet will taste really sweet if you are dehydrated and more nasty or in your case, salty— due to you actually having the nutrients you need (not dehydrated)

when I had my tonsils removed in 2022 right after surgery I noticed change in taste. later found out my nerve affected and thankfully came back. things tasted more salty and less sweet.

i literally can’t taste any salt in my electrolyte packets ever and i think they taste so good i recommend them to my friends and they all tell me it’s soooo salty. i have POTS

I’m on Acetazolamide and when the dehydration is severe even WATER tastes like sugar it’s terrible 😭 I take it twice a day and was taking a way higher dose months ago and the electrolyte drinks I drank tasted like thick syrup and made me so sick to drink 😭but I was SO dehydrated
