the delorean was known to be a piece of junk, a delorean being a time machine is a joke, getting to 88 mph is a joke because it struggled not to break down. infact during filming they had 2 deloreans they swapped between because they'd break down so often

This is a very interesting question. The DMV-12 had already been out of production for two years by BttF. It had a number of celebrity owners and poor rep. Doc did say “might as well do it in style”.

The DMC DeLorean was the cyber truck of that era. Both made by cocky millionaires that thought they could design cars, and both sucked at the jobs they were supposed to have. Back to the future 100,000% saved that cars reputation.

Idk, the bricklin is tacky looking. The DeLorean is a Giugiaro design that would’ve garnered more attention down the line and people would look back and realise what a great design it was.

My dad sold those on his lot. Many thought it was the coolest car until the got in it and saw that the window didn't roll down and got claustrophobic. Not a vehicle for a big city if your like drive throughs.
