The family of a 43-year-old man from the U.K. is sharing his story after a rapid and devastating battle with pancreatic cancer, often referred to as the “silent killer” due to how few warning signs it shows in its early stages. #MichaelArmishaw first noticed stomach pain in September 2025. At the time, his family believed it could be something minor, like a stomach bug, gallstones, or a liver issue. But as the weeks went on, his symptoms worsened. After visiting a doctor, Michael was initially told gallstones were the likely cause. However, further testing revealed a far more serious diagnosis — stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had already spread. His sister Claire said the news came as a complete shock. Michael had not shown clear warning signs before, and the diagnosis felt sudden and overwhelming. She explained that pancreatic cancer is often called a “silent killer” because symptoms typically don’t appear until the disease is advanced. Pancreatic cancer is known for being particularly aggressive. Even when caught early, survival rates remain low, and in many cases, it isn’t detected until it has already progressed significantly. The diagnosis was especially difficult for the family, as it came just a year after they lost their father to lung cancer. Claire said Michael struggled with guilt, often apologizing to his family for what they were going through again, though they reassured him it wasn’t his fault. Despite undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation, the cancer continued to spread. By November, it had reached his brain. In April, Michael suffered a seizure, and on April 26, he passed away surrounded by loved ones. Now, Claire is raising funds to help cover funeral expenses, describing the past year as incredibly painful after losing both her father and brother in such a short time. She said the family is heartbroken but hopes Michael knew how deeply he was loved.#fyp #viral
