@learningmoneyloz: 👩🏼🤝👨🏽3 things we do to live within our means👩🏼🤝👨🏽 I actually think we might live below our means but only learnt about that after recording lol. Let me know if any of these resonate! 🙌🏻 #personalfinanceuk #moneyadvice #financialliteracy #moneytips #savings #financialgoals
It always surprises me that this doesn’t seem to be the norm 🤷♀️I was always taught if you can’t afford it you can’t have it, and it’s surprising when you talk to people how many go over their income every month. It really shocks me, especially on small things that soon add up, people could go without these things to avoid debt 🤦🏻♀️

I don't buy anything i can't afford or pay outright so me and my husband have no debt except our normal bills which is just as well because I have had to give up work due to ill health so now only have 1 income and we manage and have savings if they are needed.

Very sensible, it's a pity others don't now, always lived within my means, older than you, bought a car cash 3 years ago, no monthly payment now, God it feels good to get rid of 2 car payments, drowning in direct debits, freedom, don't by designer clothes, creams, not influenced at all 😍

Having one car makes so much sense if you can make it work! 🥰

Solo Life & Money :
I've lived solo for the last 15+ years so living within means is essential. I don't believe all debt is bad as long as it's easily serviceable tho. Thankfully I've always lived quite frugally, but earning more than cost of living rises is a challenge these days.

Are you investing for compound interest as you are young enough to make a lot longer term 🥰

I was over the moon when I paid my car off, it would have easy lasted me another 5/6 years and then someone totalled it 😭 fuming as that was an expense I hadn't planned on right before moving into our new home 😭

Works for us also , we share my car as easier now he works from home ( he does have his own but its a classic but in storage as we can’t part with it but no cost ) don’t get people who just waste cash cause they can 🤷♀️

we are the same, we have a car that's paid off and will stay till we need an upgrade then pay outright after saving up.

the idea is to save enough to get a new car. Both our cars are over 15 years old. Both work, but leak, get mouldy and winter is awful. I want to sell or scrap both of them, and put it towards a newer car like 5-10 year old. Get one but want to save to try get at least half the amount to put down. It’s so hard with cars x

Stating the obvious posts are stupid ! So all we have learned is you don’t like cars and you pay the least ! Well some people like cars and have nice ones , some people don’t want a 2k a month mortgage, as it’s (just a house ) pointless posts , just like some people don’t have kids , like me , they are expensive to run , and they are noisy and smelly , 😂😂😂

after being in massive credit card / loan debt in my early 20s I now live like this. I've only just upgraded my 15 year old clapped out car using inheritance money I came into but I would never have got one on a monthly cost no way! We only have one car & sometimes I think life would be easier with two but we've managed nearly 20 years with one car so I'm sure we will survive! We spend our money wisely & occasionally have a nice treat & any money in our account on payday goes into savings

The biggest regret I have was not saving for a car before passing my test 😩 my finance car I got last year after I passed (which is a 10 year old Kia) takes up so much of my monthly income x
