Hanbok is a unique traditional dress that the Korean people have developed throughout history over thousands of years. From the Three Kingdoms Period to Goryeo and Joseon to modern times, it is a valuable cultural heritage that contains the life culture, etiquette, and aesthetics of Koreans. Recently, however, some Chinese netizens and organizations are attempting cultural exploitation by claiming hanbok as "the clothing of Chinese ethnic minorities" or "a variation of hanfu." It is a clear distortion of history and an act of cultural imperialism. Korean hanbok is a dress with a completely different genealogy from Chinese Hanfu, and it is an independent traditional dress developed in Korean history and aesthetics. Claiming another country's culture as if it belonged to its own country not only loses the trust of the international community, but also violates the value of the times of respect for cultural diversity. As much as China takes pride in its own culture, it should also have boundaries and respect for other countries' cultures. Do not further damage or distort Korean culture, Hanbok, which is the pride of Koreans.
