I thought their problem was Airbnbs making accommodation scarce and expensive for locals. Why would they go after hostels, hotels and restaurants that are employing locals?

if you lived in Spain, you would know that we should be beneficieting from tourism but the truth IS thats we aren't. The city IS getting worst that there aren't any benefits around the money that we suposetly winning from tourisim

Tourism accounts for around 70% of gdp growth in Spain. It seems like an odd strategy. Like me clipping off my fingers because I don’t like sending emails.
