your analysis is skewed. Iran has never hidden the fact that it wanted Israel obliterated by arming and supporting terrorists against Israel. Israel has to take preemptive actions to counter the threat. with the damage done to Iran, it is in their best interest to come to the negotiating table. they cannot take more hit without dire consequences within the week.

One more item to be considered is that Israel thought and hoped that by weakening the government of Iran, people will have an uprising in Iran. What they didn’t consider is that patriotic feelings are stronger than anything else and they woke that up in Iran.
