This is all so true. I worked for almost 5 years in Japan. Got so tired with the constant “when are you going home to the US?” questions. It was like they wanted me to leave.

never forget the french Guy Who Restore Nissan by joining an alloance with Peugeot...he kicked some old lazy ejecutives and Japan élite responded by corruption accusations and had to escape Japan

Younger generations, particularly Gen Z, are increasingly vocal about wanting a better balance between work and family life—they want to be present for their children and prioritize personal well-being. That said, shifting deep-seated cultural attitudes in Japan is not easy. Traditional expectations around loyalty, long hours, and corporate hierarchy are still deeply ingrained. But when calls for change come from within the society—especially from younger workers—transformation is inevitable, even if it’s slow.
