How saturated does your hair need to be? I tried it and I don’t think it worked like it should. Also do you rinse it out or do you wet and just shampoo right away?

I just ordered some. Do you spray it in when hair is dry ? And then rinse and shampoo? I have well water and it's awful. The filter doesn't do anything. How often do you use it?
