you know, student loans are meant for people who can't afford to go to school, not for rich kids to invest! 😡

Wait: the money you get from your loans, you have to pay the school in order to attend, so how can you invest or put it into a high return savings account?

When I was still in school I was being asked if my parents or spouse was contributing to my education. (They weren’t). When I received my disbursements they automatically sent my tuition to the school and anything extra after was sent to my bank account, so this won’t work unless your parents directly give you the funds they were contributing to your education.

I threw my loans in 25% crypto, 50% hisa, and 25% in s&p and I still got 2 years left in uni and have been blessed with scholarships. Ik tax will hurt me with some of that but free money for 4 years is not bad

Lots of provinces charge interest, in Manitoba, no interest though.

Good advice, instead of HISA though I have mine in index funds in my TFSA, beats inflation and by the time I'm done, hopefully even the interest rate.
