🌌 The most terrifying and divine moment in the Bhagavad Gita... In Chapter 11, Krishna reveals his *Viśvarūpa* – the Universal Form – to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Sanskrit (11.19): अनादिमध्यान्तमनन्तवीर्य- मनन्तबाहुं शशिसूर्यनेत्रम् । पश्यामि त्वां दीप्तहुताशवक्त्रं स्वतेजसा विश्वमिदं तपन्तम् ॥ Translation:
🌌 The most terrifying and divine moment in the Bhagavad Gita... In Chapter 11, Krishna reveals his *Viśvarūpa* – the Universal Form – to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Sanskrit (11.19): अनादिमध्यान्तमनन्तवीर्य- मनन्तबाहुं शशिसूर्यनेत्रम् । पश्यामि त्वां दीप्तहुताशवक्त्रं स्वतेजसा विश्वमिदं तपन्तम् ॥ Translation: "I see You without beginning, middle, or end. You have infinite power and countless arms. Your eyes are the sun and moon. I see Your mouth blazing like fire, burning this entire universe with Your own radiance." Arjuna is completely terrified seeing this cosmic form — thousands of mouths, eyes, weapons, and the destruction of all beings rushing into Krishna’s fiery mouths like moths to a flame. Shaking with fear, Arjuna pleads with Krishna: Arjuna’s terrified request: "Show me Your calmer, gentle form again… the one I know — with four arms, holding the conch, disc, mace and lotus. I cannot bear this terrifying Universal Form!" • This scene reminds us: Brahman's true glory is beyond human imagination — both beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Even the greatest warrior like Arjuna trembled before it. • || The Divine is not always “soft”.
