They’re not zombies, zombies are usually depicted as being un-dead and cannibalistic. The “zombies” in this series are just infected rabid people that only attack due to extreme rage, they don’t feed or eat. Starvation is literally how most of them die off.

Ive never understood how the zombies connection was made. The hosts only die after 28 days due to starvation. At no point are they ever reanimated/undead.
