I like the Voyager harness but a different style than that one, found it on Amazon. It finds my chihuahua mutt really well. I have it linked on my linktree if it makes it easier to see.

Martingale collar - I always used harnesses with my terriers and they’d manage to get out. Our latest rescue required we use a martingale.

I tried DOZENS on my mine the first year I had him. Nothing fit him right as a mixed breed. The best I finally found was the freedom harness from 2hounds. The leash is really great too. It’s an independent/small company too I think so i think you can email to get a custom size.the bottom is velvet so it doesn’t bother under legs like some of the others. It fits well and doesn’t choke him. I’ve been really happy with it.

I’ve been using the wild one on my maltipoo that kind of has same build for like 5 years and it does well! I keep the hook on the middle of his back but it has 3 different places to hook, they’re normally on poshmark for like $10,

hair breakage will happen regardless of any harness you get her. my dog has the same texture of hair and a Mohawk that is sad where the harness hits her because of breakage but friction can't be stopped. I've had a really hard time finding one that doesn't chafe my dogs armpits. the only winner I found is Sporn Comfort Training Mesh No Pull Dog Harness, Black

tbh is there any real reason for her to need a harness specifically? if she's pulling certain collars might be a better choice and easier on her fur!

I would try the ruff wear hi and light. It is a lighter material than the one you showed- I think.

any harness she wears regularly is going to break her hair, especially because she has that coarse almost terrier hair. I second the martingale comment, you have much less control over a dog, harnesses can be easy to escape out of and encourages pulling.

I LOVE my ruffwear hi and light. I have a chihuahua mix that is very similar to your pup. He is a chihuahua/dachshund/Chinese crested. He wears an XXXsmall hi and light. We had the ruffwear that you currently have and has the same issue

I would try a leather harness like the Buddy Belt. I find that leather damages their fur less than the woven fabrics. I just googled it because I couldn’t remember the name and a different product came up that says it’s made to not damage fur. It is expensive though! Dang I was going to say ruffwear, my girl is similar to yours shape wise (weird proportions) and we have one in an XS and one in a S, both from Marshall’s. Just some trial and error on them. Maybe visit a local pet store, like those boutiques, they usually have a huge selection of different brands than the big box stores

Wild One does really well for us. My pug/chihuahua/Pekingese mix has a similar body type and we have used them for years. Only one that we like. Very adjustable. She’s 18 pounds. We do a small.
