electrical contractor here, I started making it a habit that every time before we leave the job me and my guy do our own independent walkthroughs of the entire job to see if we miss anything.

I always say there’s so many ways to mess up doing HVAC. Whether it’s driving, customer service, electrical, drains, diagnosing the right part, etc., etc.. I’m constantly thinking about jobs and analyzing how I left everything each call.

being an owner is worse sometimes. lots of worrying making sure everything was done correctly at installs. making sure the schedules good to go and you didn't forget to add a customer. busy weeks I barely sleep because im moving around so much. I work in my sleep haha

I put some jumpers on a unit during the winter time to test the furnace packed. Everything up went home that night ended up coming back out later that evening. I know it was really late and thought to myself. Where are my jumpers! I left them on the furnace and it got that lady‘s house up to like 90°. I felt so bad ha haso I always think of where I left my tools when I’m laying in bed.

As someone who started out as an auto mechanic and worked my way around to working on basically anything I can get my hands on. Bolts and nuts being accounted for and torqued. As well as tools being picked up and not left on site. I've definitely been in the middle of dinner and went "F***! I knew I forgot something" once or twice. 😅🤣
