But are you taking accountability if you continue to ram your wheelie into someone? Some people will say sorry but continue to do it over and over and over and just say sorry and think everything is ok....

they’ll tell you you’re broke. the book Secret Money Domination by Robert Robinson tells you you’re hypnotized.

depends. if the other person views by apology as an admission of wrong doing when I don't feel I was in the wrong. then absolutely not

That’s an accident — of course one would apologize. That was a bad analogy. If someone takes my tone as an attack because they have a trauma wound and tries to call me a mean person, there is no apology to be given. They misinterpreted it and are trying to force an apology from someone who did nothing wrong.

As long as you don’t keep running over someones foot … so to speak. Apologies are not effective if the behavior turns into a pattern/habit

We Canadians take it up another notch and both apologize regardless of who did what 🤣

This is this first example for apologizing for something that was unintentional that made sense to me. I’ve struggled with this. Thank you. Lightbulb moment for me.

In the example, you did actually do the thing that the person is upset about. In many situations, it’s rarely this black and white. I think we need a better example to really grasp the nuance of this type of thing.

The irony being it’s common to apologise when you didn’t mean to do something but not when you didn’t mean to say something!

SpiritualMaddie :
You apologize for the hurt and acknowledging what you did hurt the other person. You can still think you did the right thing BUT if you value the relationship you apologize for how it impacted the relationship. The relationship still took a hit and the apology is the beginning of the repair.
