Floc works best when your PH actually above the recommended range! Floc typically will lower the PH of a pool so it wouldnt drop properly. You should add floc, turn the pool on recirculate for 1 hour and then turn it off for 24 hours.

Fun fact you can hook that vaccum hose up to where your skimmer is at , turn you filter to waste and turn it on and it will drain from the same hose like when you back wash! Just make sure you fill the hose with water prior to turning on your filter
