@foodbyjenn: Here’s a vacuum sealing tip I wish I had known sooner: If you’re sealing something with a lot of liquid (like soup, broth, or marinade), elevate your vacuum sealer! 📦💡 I just set mine on top of a box or anything sturdy in the kitchen—this lets gravity pull the liquid down and keeps it from getting sucked into the machine. No mess, no ruined seal, and no panic mid-seal! 🙌🏾 Bonus: For extra protection, you can freeze your liquid in the bag just until it firms up before sealing. Got any other vacuum sealing hacks? I mean if this works it kinda says the vacuum sealer isn’t very powerful

take the whole bag, put it in the freezer, standing up. once it sets up then you can vacuum seal it without any issues

I used to make marinades and freeze them in an old ice cube tray. Then I would add the marinade cubes and a protein into a vacuum sealed bag. After a few hours in the fridge, I would check on the bag and move the marinade around if needed. I usually marinated overnight.

I freeze mine slightly in the bag for like an hour to set the liquids up then I vacuum seal. Or you can take a paper towel, roll it up thin, lay it at the end so it will catch anything liquid but air still passes through. and I always seal each end.

I do have a genuine question what's the difference between this and Ziplocs if you're going to use it the next day. Legit question not nagging.

quick tip, some vacuum sealers sell tupperware that have a lil valve to vacuum using an attachment! reusable and wayyy better than a bag cuz more of the marinade gets sucked into the food!
