Can I point out that Ty was not trying to be racist. He was paying mays a compliment but the language of the time he was speaking, “colored” was not derogatory just what he was taught

TVT :
Most of what we “know” about Cobb is falsehood. For his true story, read “Ty Cobb” by Charles Leerhsen. It’s an accurate look at Cobb, the greatest player of the dead all era

Almost everything people think they know about Cobb is wrong. Stump made it all up and waited till he was gone to publish.

Wow! This is the first time I heard this great speak! I'm a 68 year old Detroit Tiger fan and appreciate hearing Cobb's views. He sounded like a Humble guy. He is the GOAT of all Detroit Tigers.

Considering what we have all heard about Cobb, its refreshing to hear that out of all the ball players he could have mentioned like Mantle, he was a fan of Willie Mays and his play...great to hear

History tells us he was not a nice person. You could say the same about Rose. They played to win at all costs and didn't care if they were liked or not.

I think Eddie Matthews went on to beat that record. Actually he got four home runs and a double. I was trying to find it, but I'm pretty sure that's right.
