The fact that you are so knowledgeable about the Bible and a member of the LDS Church is an enigma to me and I hope you will eventually share some of that with us. Former LDS here who loves your content. Keep it up!

Surprised that in a six minute long biography he didn’t mention once that he is an attempted politician, having run and lost twice as a Democrat for Utah state legislature in 2018 and 2020. May say something about his motivations.

I have a hard time squaring the LDS faith with the data driven point of view. either way I learned a lot from you and appreciate the high level approach you take.

Where in West Virginia? Have a bunch of family from there and personally grew up in Ashland, KY… which… ya know… is West Virginia adjacent.

my therapist recommended me ur channel since im working on figuring myself out religion wise, i appreciate having someone taking a strictly scholarly approach and not letting their own personal bias interfere with that, and how you break stuff down where i can actually understand it! Thanks for making that video. Really interesting stuff. You might like studying Lurianic Kabbalah texts. I love studying spiritual texts, but these are the ones I find endlessly cool and fascinating…enough to read every day for years. Aesthetically, my other favorite is the Bhagavad Gita.

And thank you for sharing! I was born into a Nazarene family with a scientist’s mind. It was rough. It’s refreshing to hear your approach to the biblical text without the dogma.

And 3rd to help your followers fall into lovely, restful sleep while listening to your calm, rational voice of wisdom on repeat during nap time….🤔. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s a lullaby.

as one Latter-Day Saint to another, you have definitely given me food for thought and increased my critical thinking of the bible and helped me with understanding cultural differences from the time I would never have known or thought to look for 😊

What is the ‘best’ English translation of the Bible? I’m looking for a translation that will help me better understand what the authors’ intended at the time of their writings, while also hopefully relating that to today’s society. Thank you for any help you can provide here. I love your content btw. It has been very helpful to me in many aspects ❤️
