So, route 50 runs the entire state east to west, and it is only a 1 hour 39 minute drive from Austin NV to Fallon NV with a resort almost dead center between the two towns. If anyone is walking that stretch of road at night, don't stop.

This reminded me of when my parents ran out of gas in the middle of the night driving from Texas to Arizona. A truck driver stopped and picked my dad up to take him for gas. A car pulled up a little while later and turned all of their lights off….

I had a weird encounter driving from Texas through El Paso and las Cuces to Las Vegas. middle of the night long stretch of desert highway in Arizona. that was about 25 years ago I was with my parents and my dad, a Marine, sensed danger. my mom woke up bc she sensed danger too. I was in the back seat on high alert. just our vehicle and a vehicle a ways behind with their lights off at 1am following us

I drive that road regularly and will not drive it alone anymore. I’ve had other vehicles try to force me off the road and force me to stop by blocking the road. I had to pull out my 🔫 once when one tried fo force me off the road….just outside of Austin. Always carry and never drive it alone.
