please stop using AI. Scientists just discovered that we have three years left before climate change is irreversible! that quite literally means the world will end in the upcoming years! recycle, use public transport, STOP USING AI, support local and sustainable food sources, this is our only place for life and it is dying! the planet is dying, and it’s not a minuscule thing. you will be affected, everyone you know and everything around you will be affected.
ai is bad for the environment, it requires significant amounts of electricity, which often comes from non-renewable sources, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. please please spread the message.

/I think it’s amazing how our folklore involve respect for nature baked into it. Even though the dwende is also in European and Latin American cultures, they don’t have anything like tabi tabi po. There is I suspect a respect for the spirit within trees or nature in general that is probably pre colonial and shifted after colonization. I’ve been fascinated by clues in our language about cultural values of our pre colonial ninuno. Eg the root word for the tagalog word for world, “daigdig” is “daig” which means to overcome or surpass. Made me wonder if ancient Filipino Tagalog people saw the world as a place to overcome (ring of fire/earthquake belt/typhoon alley). Add to that, the Tagalog word for “body” is “katawan” which literally translates to holder/vessel of laughter/joy. Did our ancestors know that to overcome their dangerous, disaster-prone world, you have to have joy? I still see that now, Filipino resilience, and ability to laugh and have fun in the midst of adversity. I like to believe that this is generational cultural wisdom that we still value.

I laughed, but nothing changed. Inside, everything remains the same, that same feeling of emptiness. It’s funny how we try to distract ourselves, laugh a little, pretend that everything is fine
