I think there should have been some real prison time plus probation. As for the restitution, 1 million is fair since she'll probably never get it paid and I am sure Walmart had all of the damages and loss covered by insurance.

This happened several years ago. I would love to see the receipts where Walmart paid $8 million to repair and the store. Constructing an entirely new building from scratch on land that they already own only costs $10 million. She got 60 days in jail for it.

I think it was fair. I understand many people may not agree, but 17 is still a child—and honestly, 18 is too. The brain isn't fully developed at that age, and the decision-making process is still maturing. She made a serious mistake, and it’s already going to have a long-lasting impact on her adult life. But let’s not turn her into a criminal for life. Paying back a million dollars will take decades, and with a record, finding stable employment will be incredibly difficult.

17 years old is old enough to know right from wrong just because you’re angry. You’re gonna let all of your knowledge of right and wrong go right out the window. Imagine if your kid was caught in that Walmart or your husband or your mom and didn’t make it out would you feel the same way?
