Okay! Time to go to Jason’s page to learn how to sign this correctly. (This is why we should be learning from native signers)

Try to take constructive criticism about ASL with grace, especially from deaf people. They are the best ones to be able to improve your skills since ASL is their primary language.

you said "im giving you a to give a ticket" it should be im giving you ticket+ticket bc youve already addressed the verb so ticket becomes a noun. or you can sign "to give ticket" and "give" after. this is why we should learn from deaf people.

so close but "I'm giving you a ticket" should use the noun. The verb would be used without the added "giving"

teacher here... when you're saying "giving you a ticket" that's a noun. you signed what you said the verb sign was for that noun. *confused*

You said nouns need two movements, but when you signed “I’m giving you a ticket” it was just one movement like the verb? But the verb was giving?

Remember it’s important to learn from people whose native language is ASL especially when it comes to grammar! Some of this seems it may be incorrect for ASL

Why in your example did you say “I give give a ticket”. You signed “I” then “give” then “give a ticket”. I give give a ticket.

In the sentence “I’m giving you a ticket?” Isn’t The verb is give? And ticket is the noun? Also shouldn’t it be “ticket-I-give you?” And if you’re using ticket like a verb you wouldn’t sign the word give at all? I’m a former ASL student who will be returning to the class room to learn in the fall. The most important thing ive learned in the years leading up to my decision is it’s not just recommended but necessary to learn from deaf creators and teachers.

Learn from deaf creators. As a hearing person, it’s your responsibility to listen to them when providing constructive criticism and learn and do better. It’s incredibly disrespectful when you block them for pointing out critical errors. Everyone makes mistakes but it’s crucial to acknowledge, learn, and move on from that

the give you is already implied by depicting you handing me the ticket or pointing the speed detectors at me, otherwise it's sort of doubling up because you're speaking in English sentences. I give you give a ticket. You you speeding. If you are telling their interpretator about them, instead of talking TO them, then this makes sense. Them, they speeding or I give, I gave them a ticket. Just makes me curious how you're learning.
