This is my MIL, even down to the name! The only difference is that my MIL doesn't give us any advance warning for events. She'll tell us a couple days ahead of time and then be shocked when I say I have to work or that my husband and I are busy.

My dad is retired, and my mother never worked outside the home and neither of them understand the concept of jobs. Or the fact we have to schedule around them. And that we have limited vacation time. And that we do need to use weekends to do things like grocery shopping and clean our home.
