@koreabymimi: Taepyeongmu (태평무) is a Korean dance with the function of wishing a great peace for the country.  It reflects the aesthetic principle of stillness, which is the essence of Korean traditional dance. However it also has moments in which the dancer, through distinct hand movements, transfers energy to the on-lookers. It also has some of the most intricate footwork out of all Korean traditional dancing. The clothing changed over the years. Originally, dancers wore long sleeves. However, essentially, dancers wear traditional court clothing. Taepyeongmu is designated as one of the Important Intangible Cultural Properties of South Korea.
