Life is so special, I hope you’re going easy on yourself. I see people over consume especially with Pop mart there’s not a lot of knowledge story behind people collecting those in majority. I have maybe an odd perspective I don’t see anime figure collecting as over consuming.

I don’t get it whats wrong with doing what makes you happy? As long as you have a budget for it I don’t see the problem people spend thousands on fashion and makeup so why not

I find it's healthy to do an occasional purge. Marie Kondo style, I'll go through my entire collection and only keep what sparks joy. I still have over 1,000 figures, but it's helped me truly treasure all my plastic bits cause they all spark joy for me still.

Your one of my favorite figure collectors on here🖤while figurines ARE just plastic, I look at them as a form of art, a physical 3d way for people to remember and appreciate things that changed them (hopefully for the better 😭). People grow and if it isn’t your passion anymore I hope you find something else that excites you but don’t ever feel ashamed for it, I’m sure that this is only a small small part of what’s makes you you❗️Regardless I’m glad your doing well and I hope it goes even better 🤞🪅

I mean, everything is useless if you view it as "just (blank)". why start painting? im wasting my life on paper. why start working out? im wasting my life on dumbells. its about the art, love, and life experienced in it. the countless hours it took to design, paint, and create a unique piece of artwork. art is intrinsically human, afterall

you buy them because they make you happy overconsumption would be you buying them and then throwing them after a year to buy more. never feel bad to buy things that make you happy and keep you alive.

i get the same feeling occasionally! i see people who spend their money on things fhat are reasonable and i get reallt upset at my collection and hobbies bc they are seen as worthless plastic and junk… but at the end of the day it makes me happy and even tho the occasional purge is lurking i think its just like an overwhelming feeling that leaves eventually

I honestly don't know what am doing ethier. I'm a big one piece fan and I have a collection. go easy on yourself. we never know what we are doing in life. things happen for a reason is what I tell myself often.

Balance is so important, I would recommend putting away money for collecting figures and money for going out and doing something to get out there and experience human interaction! I find little things like this can really help real things back in❤️

I have this feeling all the time; I collect dolls + figures + manga but I also have severe chronic depression and struggle with that + apathy 😭 as hard as it is I think decluttering my collection helps so much + I told myself no more prize figures. Letting go is hard but it was so much easier once I packed the figure away for sale and listed it

I just started “collecting” physical versions of games, old consoles, dvds, cds, and now vinyls. Sometimes I think I’m wasting so much money on stuff I could have for free or much less with a subscription, but that’s not the point. Cuz it’s mine. It makes me happy, and I’m using and cherishing it all. If one day I want to sell, I can. But collecting isn’t inherently bad or wasteful imo

my entire apartment is just filled with anime merch and at first I didn’t really think much about till some people my age started questioning my hobbies ahah and I never had a real reason why I collected. I just told myself that it’s a hobby that I love and enjoy. Most likely I won’t stop collecting anime/manga ahaha

something that always helped me was setting a max budget per month on figures and never buy more then 1 scale in a month as they are always pricey.
