The banter is Incredible, but, at this point he has not revealed his love for her. She has no clue what his feelings are. She also doesn't know yet that he separated Mr Bingley and Jane. I honestly think that she falls in love with him when she finds out what he did for Lydia and Wickham and how he rectified Bingley and Jane!

The sitting side by side would actually have the OPPOSITE effect, bc Lady Catherine changed them so that Mr Collins and Charlotte wouldn’t sit together, bc they COULDNT, being married. So no, it was a very clear statement by Lady Catherine that they could never be married
