Oh noooo this is really bad for the tomatoes!! They’ll see the trellis is set upside down and actually start getting really angry and grow upside down themselves

um I have a trellis inside of a trellis for my patio tomato plant that grew too tall - the second trellis isn't even touching the dirt; it's a mere suggestion and I completely gave up and left it like that 😅

your plants are small enough that you can still flip them the right way. when they grow big they will benefit from the support of the stakes being in the ground

Just be careful I always get worried because I heard a story of a lady that tripped and hurt herself on one of those pokey things

I would always turn them upside down, tie the polls together, wrap string lights around it, and use it as an outdoor Christmas tree decoration in a planter!

one time I saw a story that a lady had her trelis like this, she fell near the garden and one of the ends went through her eye.. freak accident, but I always think of it when I put mine in

My tomato vines usually get too big for these things to work at all but if you have a short variety flipping them upside down probably makes them more stable. Every time I have used those the right way they just flop over

umm. you may be onto something. hard winds twist the damn legs (which I have stuck in the ground) and then my plants fall over. I'm trying it upside down next year
