I second the clippings off horse shoe nails. It would make sense that there are several in one area and they are aluminum so they feel light like plastic!

When they do the horses hoof (putting the horse shoes) they stay attached with nails. Then they bend them and are cut!

They don’t look like plastic to me and they look like the cut off portions from horse shoe nails, they even have the landing on one side, as they should to force the nail drive out when hammering them.
