In this video it’s: 🇬🇧 UK 🇨🇦 Canada 🇿🇦 South Africa …all trying to describe the *same* things. A "traffic light" becomes a "robot". A "pickup" becomes a "bakkie". A "toilet" becomes a "washroom" (or a "water closet", if you’re feeling fancy). And living "out in the sticks" becomes living in the "bundus". It’s one of my favourite things about living abroad — realising that even when we speak the same language, we still bring so much of home with us in the words we use.
