I was “on” their show in DC years ago. I was in the crowd but had applied, and they told me they cast someone else but told me to come to the show and they’d call me up at the point they ask “is there someone in the crowd interested in ___”. So I can’t speak to them deliberately doing your exact opposite of your type, but I was definitely planted in the crowd so some of what they do is 100% scripted.
