my art final was too create your own piece inspired by an artist. I chose Jackson Pollock and my teacher gave me this huge like 4'-5'x6' canvas. couldn't physically bring it home. thought about donating it to a local museum. became her student aide the next year and it was hanging in her office. was still there when I graduated a year after that and i don't know what happened as its been 7 years.

Art educator here. I don’t understand why other art teachers get so worked up about students not keeping their work. The process is what’s important. They don’t want it. They don’t care about it. They just take the class for credit, and that’s ok.

I left my art final as a freshman in college because I dropped out at the end of the semester, and they deactivated my student ID before I could get my art (the buildings are locked and the student IDs unlock them) ☹️

I had too many teachers say they couldn’t find my piece and then saw it hanging somewhere later so if I didn’t take it with me right away I made peace with never seeing it again.
