Started tonight with my 4 yr old…. There were tears when she realised she couldn’t put $4 in her spending purse (couldn’t help but relate a little! 😂) she eventually came round and popped $1 into savings and investment, I know it’ll get easier when she realises the pattern. Which account do you pay the interest on?

That’s what my mom did with me at around 7 years old. We budgeted and did the check register together. I didn’t have an allowance either

You are so right I went through some hard times a divorce death of my ex and was very tight on money. I sat with my sons who were in high school at the time and budget it till we got to a place where we were comfortable now I see it in them Their wise beyond their years my 23-year-old was able to buy a house on his own

I feel this in my bones. My Nana was INCREDIBLE at managing the household budget, she was a homemaker with 9 children and my grandad worked as a waiter. She gave HIM an allowance and budgeted the rest. Her family never went without what they needed, but it wasn’t seen as an explicit skill to teach and pass down, so my mum didn’t learn the same lessons and also didn’t pass it to me. Trying my best to learn it as an adult and mum of 2!

i used to watch my mom do budgeting, she has this wallet that has many pockets and each labelled with our bills. i often as questions and she answers them while budgeting

I taught my kids the value about money through play money & then the arcade coins systems (savings & spending) accounts, change their mindsets around money, so it's not just spending
