my school gives $500, but there’s so many restrictions. many teachers don’t even use $150 of it bc things like glue sticks are restricted. it’s ridiculous

The general public has no clue! I just retired after 30+ years and I cannot tell you how much money I spent every single year on my classroom. I think I probably can afford to retire because I won’t be having to fund all this anymore. But I also want everyone in this post to remember, we do it because we love our kids. And it’s about them. So I’m thankful for people like you who go the extra effort and make your classroom a safe haven for the students. Bless you!

Teachers should NOT be putting their hands into their own pockets it’s disgusting but it happens. Nobody seems to realize or appreciate it. The more teachers do it the more normalised it will become so some element of standing strong is needed

Even as a highschool teacher…curtains and lighting are my non negotiables. They immediately make the room SO much cozier and lived in, if I have to live there I want it to feel pleasant
