Pre-med is extremely competitive nowadays. It’s almost unrealistic the standards students are required to meet. I met a UCLA and USC pre-med students who are on the brink of graduating and they said they’re taking the MCAT and doing a gap year for research. The ucla girl had hella stuff already with internships, hospital volunteering, and lab work but they both wanted publications before even thinking to apply
