Had it in a friend's backyard. Hired a taco cart. Friends and family helped set up and tear down. Bridesmaids did their own hair and makeup. If no friends with backyards, try peerspace to rent a home for your venue!

Yes a ceremony elsewhere and a reception will be way cheaper and you’ll get better food. Also, consider hiring a wedding planner. They’ll know what venues will work for what you want and your price point.
