As a HVAC guy, there is physics, thermo, building science, intuition, networking, computer programming, control theory, and high level problem solving involved. Not to mention specialized, heavy, and expensive tools, that serve one function. With the advancements in system technology, you have to constantly stay ahead of the curve to keep people comfortable. Hard? Yes. Hardest? Debatable. Every trade has their own aspects that make them extremely difficult. 6 in one hand, half dozen in the other.

Bro not only the conditions. You need to be a brain surgeon to work on this high efficiency units. Most service manuals are on Chinese. It’s almost like being a doctor/detective!

it might be the most technical along with electricians. Carpenters/pile bucks and Iron workers have it the hardest. we do all the weather stuff. iron workers move hard and heavy, carpenters need to know an aspect of every trades work and keep them all happy during a project while building their scope of work.

You need to have a good brain to be decent at hvac but out of the trades I’ve done being a lineman can be brutal and very dangerous
