I stop this video right after you said the right tool. You can legit make good portraits with a standard HB pencil from school. The first step in understanding how to lay out a portrait and shading.

Keep in mind y’all, HES A PROFESSIONAL! So if you’re starting out as an artist DO NOT BUY THIS! Sure it may be helpful, but if you don’t know how to draw in the first place especially if your starting out this won’t help you out on drawing better unless you watch videos on drawing and practice multiple times a day.
