@vt.physics: Disney’s Floating Beast Illusion Will Blow Your Mind! Pepper's Ghost is a classic theatrical illusion that creates the appearance of a ghostly figure or object appearing and disappearing in space. It works using basic principles of optics - specifically, reflection and transparency. The setup involves a sheet of glass or clear plastic placed at a 45-degree angle between the audience and a hidden area (often called the "blue room"). When the hidden figure is illuminated and the main stage is kept relatively dim, the light reflects off the angled glass and appears as a semi-transparent image on stage, seemingly floating or interacting with the scene. The illusion relies on the law of reflection, where light bounces off the surface at the same angle it strikes it. By carefully controlling lighting and angles, Pepper’s Ghost tricks the eye into seeing something that isn’t physically present, blending real and reflected images seamlessly. #science #physics #learning #facts #disney #disneyland
I wonder how did they managed to pull it off in the 1860s when the light bulb was invented in 1879?

This is actually such a cool and smart way to do that trick.
I believe people do this similar effect when making their own Miku concert at home with a bunch of plastic (similar angled position as the one shown in this video) and place their phone or tablet above the screens.

Still doesn’t make sense, you’d see the prince raising from the ground but you don’t in this plus the prince levitated and slowly lowers to the ground when the beast disappears

I don't think they placed a glass there. Because the trick would be visible only in specific seats, right?
