Surely the blood can and should be tested after donation for any anomalies. Getting the donations is the important bit. Testing and filtering out hazards naturally comes after, and should’ve already been happening in the first place

I’m all for this. But I do find the timing of this as well as the mad cow permissions for blood donation to have both come out at times of low donations overall? Why couldn’t this have been done years ago?

Finally. I had to stop donating for a few years because of my sexuality so I’m glad things are finally changing. This should have been done years ago. Our blood isn’t any different from anyone else’s.
