Idon’t judge people who are overweight. If anything, I feel more sadness and compassion when I think about what they might be going through. How hard simple things become. Walking up the stairs, moving around, fitting into spaces like airplane seats, even just breathing comfortably. Everyday life becomes heavier in every sense. I know this feeling, because I was 22 kilos heavier myself. And even for me it was already uncomfortable. My thighs were rubbing in the summer, I had rashes on my inner thighs… no joke. Simple things felt heavier, more annoying, less free. And that’s why I changed. Not because of some perfect body goal, but because I didn’t like how it felt to live in that body. It also makes me think… how does someone get to a point where food takes over so much that health slowly gets pushed aside? Not in a judgmental way, but because I know it’s rarely just “lack of discipline.” There’s always something deeper behind it. For me, there was a moment where I thought, okay, this needs to stop here. But everyone’s moment is different.
