On the evening of Saturday, June 14,2025, my family and I were celebrating my brother and new sister in law as it was their wedding day 🤍 around 8:30 pm is when everyone was getting alerts on their phone about a flash flood 💔 normally, our area wouldn’t get effected as much, but as soon as I was shown images of cars in the creek by our house, we knew we had to go! We made our way to our neighborhood of Elm Grove in Wheeling and it was nothing but chaos & mayhem! Before being directed to turn around, we caught a glimpse of our street and it looked like a river!! All I could think about was our kitty, Scout! He just turned 13 this year and we’ve had him since he was a few weeks old. Unfortunately, his favorite hiding spot was under our living room chair and was deathly afraid of rain and storms. We found our sweet boy on Tuesday 💔😭 I’m addition to losing him, we pretty much lost our whole first floor..living room, dining room/our sons play area,kitchen and laundry room 😭 the images that we’ve all seen first hand or on social media has been devastating, heartbreaking, overwhelming, and mind blowing! There have been so many affected in our county but I can say one thing with absolute confidence is that we truly are a strong community! Everyone is coming together to gather supplies no matter what everyone’s needs are for everyone! There have been 8 fatalities and still more missing 💔 and there have been 70 vehicles retrieved from Big and Little Wheeling Creek and the Ohio River 😭 Please pray for WV 💛💙🙏🏻 - @jenelle1326
