Maybe this is a hot take but dating in the big cities is a nightmare because everyone thinks a spark will immediately manifest like love is some fairytale but in reality it is built over time and consistency and repeated actions, and everyone just gives up because they assume someone else is right around the corner. Obv if the vibe is bad then it’s bad but in your case it sounded at least enough to meet another time so this sounds like a copout but in the end you dodged a bullet because you should have someone willing to try and he wasnt.

You want a connection. Look up “sparks” and what it means. Usually is triggering some sort of trauma and this does NOT mean you don’t have connection. I know I can’t explain it well. But therapist on the app have explained the difference between sparks and connections. And you also need to accept the fact that sometimes things don’t work out and it’s out of your control stop blaming yourself. Life is amazing why spiral in things you can’t control. Love u 🥰

Try not to spiral - it has nothing to do with you! Speaking from experience as someone who’s sent a similar message, I think most people approach a first date with very low stakes. Who knows what that guy is looking for - but it’s not your job to find out or fit it. My mantra is “rejection is protection.” I’m always happy when someone gives me a clear reason to move on with my life - a non-answer is also an answer btw. Don’t give up!

I had a similar situation happen to me recently and at first I really beat myself up about it, fully blaming myself, but as I’ve had time to think about it I’m actually happy they were honest with me and I didn’t waste too much of my time with someone who in the end wouldn’t be interested in me. It can be a hard thing to process at first but you got this! Dating can be hard😩

DUDE this has happened to me like 3 times in the past few months. Honestly I think it’s bizarre that people feel like they have to make a decision after the first date but everyone has a short attention span these days and is always just looking for the next best thing. Also crazy to act that way on the date and then do a complete 180? The same thing happened on my dates…I didn’t even initiate the kiss! Sorry for the long comment but I guess you can at least know you’re not alone. I hope we both find someone who respects our time 🥺
