A few months ago, I reached out to my former principal just before her retirement. Unfortunately, I couldn’t congratulate her in person due to my move, but I took the opportunity to express my gratitude for her tough love. As a child, I didn’t fully appreciate her strictness, but looking back, I realize how much it shaped me. Her firmness played a significant role in my development, and I credit her for the person I am today. My fondness for Chinese culture stems from the countless hours I spent in school, often finding myself in her office for various mischiefs.
